Spence is a bad guy. A psychopath, he makes his living praying on rich women by wowing them before robbing them blind. While out celebrating his latest conquest, Spence is talked into taking a new drug which turns out to be the biggest mistake of his life. What he doesn't know when he pops that pill is that the new drug has an unwelcome side effect: it turns on his emotions.

Lost Solace is writer/director Chris Scheuerman's latest feature and with it, he explores the emotional dark side of humanity through the eyes of a man feeling for the first time. The movie largely unfolds as Spence meets and gets to know his next mark Azaria, a student with a rich father. Kaleidoscope strikes three picture deal with genre specialists Jinga
Lost Solace (2016)
Deal includes sci-fi thrillers The Rift and Lost Solace, and supernatural thriller Through The Shadow.

Genre sales specialist Jinga has sold sci-fi thriller The Rift to Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment for the UK and Ireland as part of a three picture deal with the company.

The thriller stars Ken Foree (Dawn Of The Dead), Monte Markham (The Six Million Dollar Man) and Katerina Kas (The Wolf Of Wall Street) as CIA agents sent to investigate the wreckage of a Us spacecraft which has crashed in Serbia, whose only surviving astronaut has been infected with a virus that threatens the existence of mankind.

The distributor has also acquired UK rights for Canadian sci-fi thriller Lost Solace and Brasilian supernatural thriller Through The Shadow as part of the deal.

In sci-fi feature Lost Solace [pictured], Andrew Jenkins plays a psychopath who experiences empathy for the first time after experimenting with a new drug.

FrightFest unveils 2016 line-up

London-based genre festival to feature 19 world premieres and 35 UK & European premieres.

Horror Channel FrightFest has unveiled the line-up for its upcoming 17th edition, taking place at its new home of the Vue Shepherd’s Bush from Aug 25-29.

Sean Brosnan’s revenge thriller My Father Die [pictured] receives its European premiere as the opening film, while the UK premiere of Sang-ho Yeon’s Cannes title Train To Busan closes this year’s festival.

In total, the 62-strong feature line-up includes 19 world premieres and 35 UK & European premieres. Ivan Silvestrini’s Monolith, Tricia Lee’s creepy chiller Blood Hunters and Nick Jongerius’ gory The Windmill Massacre are among the world premieres.

Meanwhile, Adam Wingard’s eagerly anticipated The Woods will receive its European premiere in the Main Screen strand, playing alongside the likes of Stephen King adaptation Cell, Italian box office hit They Call Me Jeeg Robot and Cody Calahan’s Let Her Out.

Cannes: Jinga boards 'Lost Solace', 'Beyond The Gates'
Lost Solace (2016)
Jinga will represent international sales on Sci-Fi thriller Lost Solace [pictured], while Raven Banner will handle Us and Canada.

Genre sales company Jinga Films has boarded two titles ahead of Cannes Film Festival.

The first title is Chris Scheuerman’s Sci-Fi thriller Lost Solace, which it will represent international rights on, with Raven Banner handling Us and Canada.

Starring Andrew Jenkins (Stormworld) as a psychopath forced to confront his own morality after taking a recreational drug, the film was co-written by Jenkins with director Scheuerman. Producers were the aforementioned duo alongside Lori Triolo and David Angelski.

The second title Jinga has picked up is Jackson Stewart’s fantasy-horror Beyond The Gates, which will world premiere at the La Film Festival next month.

The film stars Graham Skipper (Almost Human), Chase Williamson (The Guest), Brea Grant (Halloween 2) and Barbara Crampton (We Are Still Here).

Director Stewart co-wrote the screenplay with Stephen Scarlata (Jodorowsky’s Dune).
