A Bit on the Bland Side
Despite my liking actress Kathleen Beller (who plays the heroine of the story, Meredith Tolliver) and the good acting (and good looks) of the hero, Francois-Paul (played by Francois-Eric Gendron), this movie was like hoping for a home cooked meal and getting a frozen dinner instead. Not even the lovely scenery nor a striptease in a balloon (yes, you read that right) could make this more entertaining. The story plodded along, there was no real action or conflict (Meredith's troubles with her father, a family tragedy and her struggles with anorexia were given little depth, as was Francois's unhappy former marriage), and the so-called "other man" was no romantic threat or rival, as he and Meredith were just friends from the start, and he preferred casual no-string romances. Even the lovemaking scene lacked any spark.
This can easily be skipped.
