Sangue chiama sangue (1968)

Review by jordondave-28085

Sangue chiama sangue

4/10

Kind of bland

(1968) Blood Draws Blood/ Sangue chiama sangue DUBBED SPAGHETTI WESTERN

It centers on Sancho' Rodríguez (Fernando Sancho) being rowdy in a bar full of dancing with his fellow bandits. They would then attend to stop at a monastery to pay their respects. And although all appeared to be okay, however, after the service was over, Sancho and his team of bandits then decide to devise a plan to steal the monastery's diadem, shown displayed on the statue. Meanwhile, Sancho and his bandits then clash with a stranger we find out later his name is Andrew. Creating a ruckus at a saloon. And as soon as Andrew manages to escape, it was during then Sancho and his bandits then decide to put their plan into action. Before this, we then see one of the saloon girls, Mary Anne (Léa Nanni) coincidentally happen to cross the same paths as the stranger, Andrew and a padre/ monk Father Louis (Germán Cobos). We find out that the purpose of Andrew coming to the town of Diego Suarez was so that he can meet his brother, who happens to be pastor Louis. During this reunification was happening, someplace else is Sancho and his gang of bandits then show up at the monastery after hours to execute the plan into motion. With Sancho instructing a cold blooded killer, Angel Face (Joaquín Blanco) not to kill any of the monks. But of course, he does not listen, nor do the other bandits do as they go for an all out killing spree. Father Louis eventually shows up while Sancho and his bandits are helping themselves to the monastery's food. One of the bandits, Pedro ( Francesco Porzi) disapproves of the killings, but Sancho just makes an excuse then moves on.

You can pretty much predict the rest as Andrew finds out about his brother's decease and of course, seeks retribution. But not before, Sancho double crosses his own men having a percentage of them slaughtered by an ambush when the cavalry gets involved since Sancho's love interest, Carmen (Antonella Judica) tries to play both of them for the purpose of obtaining the diadem.

Upon watching this, there is a little "For A Few Dollars More" influence when the main bad guy wants to keep all the money for himself without him having to share the royalties with the other bandits. As well as the star, Andrew wanting the diadem for himself at the same time Mary Anne wants to return it back to the monastery. This is the bland and the less than exciting version of better Spaghetti Western movies bits and pieces.
