David Duchovny, Timothy Hutton, Hope Davis, and Olivia Steele Falconer in Louder Than Words (2013)

Review by bellino-angelo2014

Louder Than Words

9/10

Slow in the beginning but stick with it... with some Kleenex nearby

I have been curious for years about LOUDER THAN WORDS because at least once a year is aired on a TV channel where they mostly air dramatic movies but kinda avoided it because it looked obscure. Well, what a fool I am sometimes! Last June I finally saw it and I liked it even more than I expected.

John Fareri (David Duchovny) and his wife Brenda (Hope Davis) suffered the tragic death of their daughter for an uncurable disease and so John has an idea: to build a children's hospital that is multifunctional and parents can stay for long visits. At first he has trouble in having his project green-lighted but thanks to his lawyer friend Bruce Komiske (Timothy Hutton) the project will open its wings and it's a success.

The acting was great by Duchovny, Hutton, Davis and Xander Berkeley, each giving other great performances in their resumes. The concept too is great and yet it's one of those movies to watch with some Kleenex nearby because the beginning is sad and the ending is kinda whimsical because we hear the dead child's voice like she was in the sky witnessing what happened.

Overall, if you catch it on TV and you are at home with nothing else to do give it a try, tho I wouldn't recommend it to parents who lost their children because it would re-open some wounds. Still, a must-see that is even available on YouTube.
