Paul Venier, Bobby Ciasulli, and Frank Modica in The Gilbert Diaries: The Movie (2023)

Review by kelvinchambers2

The Gilbert Diaries: The Movie

9/10

My friday night movie

This is one of the more entertaining comedy films I've had the pleasure of watching this year. The protagonist, Gilbert, is incredibly amusing, and as the movie progressed, I found myself growing increasingly fond of him, even cheering him on at certain moments. The film features some utterly unexpected scenes, but it still manages to maintain a coherent storyline that kept us captivated until the final scene. I found the conclusion quite appropriate, and overall, it's a delightful comedy film that leaves you feeling good. It's a rarity to come across movies made with such flair these days, so this one undoubtedly stands out as a gem. I sincerely hope it receives the acknowledgment it rightfully merits, and I am even keeping my fingers crossed for a sequel. Fingers crossed that it comes to fruition!
