Gadar 2 (2023)

Review by sachlangdebbarma-80540

Gadar 2

6/10

Sunny paji's Karishma

Gadar 2 is the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. It stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), a Sikh truck driver, must once again cross the border illegally to save his son Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma) from the wrath of Pak General Hamid Iqbal (Manish Wadhwa).

The film has received mixed reviews from critics. Some have praised the film's action sequences, patriotic fervor, and performances, while others have criticized its outdated storyline, predictable plot, and over-the-top violence.

Personally, I thought Gadar 2 was an enjoyable film. It was definitely not a masterpiece, but it was a fun and entertaining way to spend a few hours. The action sequences were well-choreographed and exciting, the performances were solid, and the film had a good amount of patriotic fervor. However, the storyline was a bit outdated and predictable, and the film did rely on over-the-top violence at times.

Overall, I would recommend Gadar 2 to fans of Sunny Deol, action films, and patriotic dramas. However, if you're looking for a film with a fresh and original storyline, you may want to look elsewhere.

Here are some of the pros and cons of Gadar 2:

Pros:

Exciting action sequences( some might find it cringe and compare it with early South Indian exaggerated action sequences, but come on man, it is a mass masala film, we do not need to incorporate physics everywhere) Solid performances by Sunny Deol and Manish Wadhwa Good amount of patriotic fervor Nostalgic moments for fans of the first film Cons:

Outdated storyline Predictable plot Over-the-top violence Lack of originality Weak performance by Utkarsh and Ameesha.( Personally, I feel Utkarsh did very cringe acting in the first half but he escalated in the 2nd half)

Overall, Gadar 2 is a fun and entertaining film that is sure to please fans of Sunny Deol and action films. However, it is not a masterpiece, and it may not be to everyone's taste.

I rate it 6 out of 10.
