Asfalt

10/10

A fantastic "single location" film

It takes a lot to make a single location film work. Great story telling, good acting, nice pacing, twists, ect. This movie has it all. Though not actually a single location film, it does everything that type of movie should do, and it does it very well. You are taken for a ride through the past and present of the two main characters that will make you laugh, cry and surprise you throughout. The way the characters are presented was very clever. The movie leaves you wondering about the father and question peoples presumptuous about him for a long time after. The acting was excellent, very funny and rough, and the dynamic and development between the father and daughter hits you very hard. By the end of the film I was in tears. The soundtrack was unique and very fitting for the movie. Sad and strange, very atmospheric. Over all it was a great cinematic experience, I didn't get bored once, and I very very submerged in the story. One of the best films I've seen in a very long time.
