A Children's Movie
A children's movie, as in, minors under the age of eighteen produced, directed, and wrote this movie. Clever juxtapositions of Sunday School names throughout and a lot more blood and guts than Mt. Calvary itself. The contrived retelling, throwing shade on church culture, was a noble and justified effort. Yet very hard to follow when all characters had a first derivative, a second derivative, et al. Intended themes are overwrought and do not resonate as universal nor garner sympathy. In sum, this mishmash of biblical anecdotes fails to deliver its own work to any kind of salvation or redemption.
