Class of '85 (2022)

Review by RedKidBytes

Class of '85

3/10

Grown-ups playing children in the high school

Class of 85 is a movie literally taking place in a claustrophobic class in 1985. Over 80 % of it is shot in that class. If there was a plot, I must have missed it.

The teacher, Mr. Murphy did not have an outlandish persona, nor his teaching style was unorthodox. He was more corky and weird, and borderline psycho. And he treated the 12 graders who looked like actors in their mid to late 20s like kindergarteners.

To make the scenes feel like the 80s, the movie utilized a pastel color scheme. But for some strange reason, they went a step further and made it look like you are watching the movie with a TV from the 80s. Do you remember the old tubed color TVs? Where the display always looked hazy and particularly the middle of it was a bit blurry.

I wanted to enjoy this film because I was in high school in the 80s. I ventured in thinking at least I could get some nostalgia, but instead all I had was an old used colored TV from the 80s.
