Agent Vinod (1977)

Review by sauravjoshi85

Agent Vinod

6/10

Mahendra Sandhu impresses in this desi version of James Bond!!

Agent Vinod is an action spy film directed by Deepak Bahry. The film stars Mahendra Sandhu, Asha Sachdev, Rehana Sultan, Late Jagdeep, Late Iftekhar, Late Pinchoo Kapoor, Late Nazir Hussain and Late K. N. Singh.

An Eminent scientist gets kidnapped and a secret agent is assigned to locate and rescue him.

This film can easily be called as desi version of James Bond with gadgets like James Bond, the flamboyant nature of the secret agent and car chases but the film doesn't convince much primarily due to poor and immature direction.

The plot of the movie is good and the screenplay is also decent, the film doesn't offers much in terms of twists and turns and the limited twists doesn't excites much. Music in the film is average and none of the song leaves a long impact.

Acting is good and Mahendra Sandhu looks impressive in his role. Iftekhar looked very impressive in one of his rarest negative role, K. N. Singh looked superb in his very small role and rest of the cast were also good in their parts.

Climax of the film is average and the film ends in the typical way in which 70s and 80s film used to end.

Overall an averagely entertaining film. Can be watched for amazing performance of Mahendra Sandhu.
