G.V. Prakash Kumar in Jail (2021)

Review by saru2020

Jail

2/10

another gully based crappiest movie

GV Prakash has spoiled his career to the core and this is another crap coming from his side, the painful fact is that despite being directed by one of the good directors in Tamil cinema, this one came out to be a less than a mediocre film, who is known for his emotional cinema angle, which was totally missing except the protagonist's mother's death scene.

The trajectory of Tamil cinema is still on the lines of taking gully based movies, I don't know if the commercial success is happening because of that group of people and hence the targeting is still happening but this is definitely not good at all.

This one especially portrays the lives of the Kannagi Nagar people, the director has tried to justify whatever mistakes that group of people do, a totally irresponsible film making there.

There are so many ways to present the lives of those underprivileged people if the director does really care about the enhancement of their lives but it was abrupt that the film was just trying to show one side of the story and failed miserably to highlight what could be done for the betterment, in that way, this film could've easily been into the limelight and a box office success if it'd have taken from all angles but just one side of storytelling dumped the whole movie into the gully itself.
