Even though the series was named after a sweet, little four year old me was terrified of these creatures! Don't really know why, but the huge size of the BARBAPAPAS compared to human beings, their shape-shifting abilities and the overall weirdness of the show only fueled my nightmares.

Re-watching it today, however, I can see it for the wholesome focus on family, friendship and mutual support that I feel the authors actually intended.
