Run (2004)

Review by sauravjoshi85

Run

3/10

Apart from brilliant comedy by Vijay Raaz, there is no saving grace for this pale and dull film

Run is an action comedy-romance film directed by Late Jeeva and stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bhumika Chawla, Mahesh Manjrekar, Mukesh Rishi, Ayesha Jhulka, Vijay Raaz and Late Goga Kapoor.

A youngster arrives in Delhi and falls in love with a girl and she also reciprocates her feeling but is opposed by her gangster brother who also plots to kill the boy.

I have seen lots of Bollywood films and can't understand the logic of a girl getting impressed and eventually falling in love with a stalker. In this film also Abhishek portrays a role of stalker and Bhumika eventually falls in love with him, nevertheless let's come to the review of the film.

Run a film with a very substandard plot and equally substandard and pale execution. We have seen many films with such plot and this film also being made with the same mediocre and cliché way of film making.

Acting is decent and none of the character disappoints with Vijay Raaz as the most impressive of them all, however in my opinion Mukesh Rishi is wasted. The film is shot in Delhi hence the villain is been shown speaking in Haryanvi dialect which looked forced upon, Fake and unimpressive.

Screenplay is very pale and predictable and apart from periodic comic relief by the great Vijay Raaz there is nothing fresh in the film which can keep the viewers engaged, the climax of the film is unimpressive and the film ends on a very sudden note and lacks proper closure. Overall apart from the brilliant comedy by Vijay Raaz there is no reason to watch this pale and dull film.
