Craig (2008)

Review by Dethcharm

Craig

"You're Really Making Progress!"...

In CRAIG, the title character (Kim Sonderholm) is left on his own, racked with guilt, after his sister's house burns down. Craig is an adult with severe mental illness. After a series of humiliating experiences with women, he spirals into a violent, sexual fantasy world. Craig also hears voices, sometimes from his television, telling him to "do what you know you should".

Obviously, this can't end well.

CRAIG is a bleak tale with no likeable characters at all. So, expect no light. Craig himself is portrayed -quite realistically- as a reprehensible man with no hope of redemption. It's impossible to feel anything other than revulsion for him no matter how psychologically sick he is.

Others have commented on the copious nudity in the film. It's part of the story since it's mostly about what's on Craig's mind. The main complaint about this movie is its running time. At 100 minutes it seems eternal! A good 20-30 minutes could have been lopped off without losing anything...
