This show had me hooked from the very first episode. You cannot help but fall in love with the very complex characters. As usual, the Ukrainian / Russian actors are fantastic and the characters are very lovable in their own unique way. Since the series spanned 100-year period, the actors changed as the character aged and sometimes it was difficult the to follow what character was being portrayed. I learned a little about Russian / Ukrainian history as well because a lot of this was portrayed in the show. The love of the family cannot be understated. I highly recommend this show.
