Golden Planet (1996)

Review by CaptainHamhock

Golden Planet

5/10

Mildly Entertaining Find

It is about what you would expect to find in a cheap DVD (or even VHS) bin at a general store. It was likely made to be just that. A bunch of well known genre names, all past their peak days, mixed with some whats-is-names to ballance things out. Cheap production, with some minimal directing, and an old story that was tampered with to make is seem origional.

I knew what to expect, I watched and I was entertained. What more do you expect from the cheap DVD bin? Starting with the story used for Treasure of The Sierra Madre.was not a bad idea. The gratuitous love interest for the main character was a bit weak, and it would have been less so if it had not followed to such a pedestrian conclusion. But, overal it was simply a low budget piece of unsurprising genre entertainment. Nothing to love or hate here, so a 5 of 10 rating.
