Good sequel with the young newlywed couple , being well written/played/directed by Fernando Fernan Gomez
"Life Around us" or "La Vida Alrededor" deals with Antonio : Fernando Fernández Gómez and Josefina : Analia Gade . Once finished their careers Law and Medicine respectively , the newlyweds attempt to work resulting in fateful consequences . Along the way they become involved in a large number of outlandish situations , and these happenings to be complicated since Josefina gives birth a baby . Meantime , things go wrong , as Antonio gets some poor cases with lousy clients, all of them delinquents with no money : Manolo Moran, Francisco Camoiras , Xan Das Bolas .
This is the sequel to "La Vida Por Delante" 1958, it is a fun comedy but inferior than the previous entry . Following the surprising misadventures , incidents, misfortunes and several events of this peculiar couple. It is a charming comedy of exquisite manners , filled with critical spirit and observation, concerning the huge dificultades a marriage suffers throughout the process to create a family , but narrated and developed in diverting and hilarious style . Well-directed with great sense of humor as well as sparkling and witty dialogue , delivering a fairly reliable analysis to show the society of the Fifties . All this is competently told , with extremely comical scenes , absurd situations , though it relies heavily on the trial scenes . Also noteworthy are the soliloquies of the offbeat characters, which face to face with the audience to tell their confidences . Starring duo , Fernando Fernan Gómez , Analia Gade , are pretty good, giving nice and sympathetic interpretations . They are finely accompanied by an attractive plethora of Spanish secondaries , full of familiar faces, such as : Manolo Moran , Xan Das Bolas , Felix Fernandez , Joaquin Roa, Francisco Bernal, Erasmo Pascual, Maria Luisa Ponte, Agustín González, Angel Álvarez, Maite Blasco, Felix De Pomes , Carmen De Lirio, Jiménez Escribano, José Manuel Martín, José Maria Tasso, José Riesgo and Rafaela Aparicio in his regular role as a servant.

The picture was nicely played , written, produced , directed by Fernando Fernan Gómez. Fernando appeared in more than 200 films , directed around 20 and wrote novels , plays and poetry . After his debut in "Manicomio" , directed "La Vida por Delante" 1958 and in 1959 this follow-up "La Vida Alrededor" . He is the only person to be nominated as actor : El Abuelo, director : El Viaje a Ninguna Parte and writer : Lazaro de Tormes for three different films in the Goya Awards . He actually won in every category at least once . This prolific and notorious actor also directed a few films such as : Fuera de Juego, Lazaro de Tormes , Mambru se fue a la Guerra , 5 Tenedores , 5000 Dias Juntos, Ninette , Venganza de Don Mendo. These are fine movies but still far from the levels of talent would reach as a director with works as El Mundo Sigue , Bruja más que Bruja , El Extraño viaje , and his greatest hit : Viaje a Ninguna Parte. His important career as a filmmaker has been little appreciated by the ordinary public , being more known for his performances at the orders of other directors . Fernando was one of the most complete Spanish Cinema artists and a member of the Spanish Royal Academy and one of the best actors of Spanish Cinema . La Vida Alrededor Rating : 6.5/10. The picture will appeal to Spanish comedy enthusiasts and Fernando Fernan Gómez fans .
