Get Even (2017)

Get Even

7/10

Started okay, then I got into it

This was a very intriguing game. In the beginning, I was having doubts as to whether I should continue this game, but as I started to understand the story, the game started to pull me further and further in. The game is about the investigation of the death of an individual via a revolutionary simulator technology. You play as the head of security of a defense corporation. What starts off as an odd occurrence in a warehouse leads down into deep rabbit hole which after plot twist after plot twist leads to a depressive emotional rollercoaster, not too dissimilar to the Adam Sandler movie 'Click', with elements similar to the Jake Gyllenhaal film 'Source Code'.

Gameplay wise, it was okay. It was doable, though I had to restart a few times due to glitches. The A.I behaviour was predictable and enemies detected me from within bushes and vegetation which obscured my vision of sight towards the enemy. The game itself didn't register these as solid and hence the enemies had an unfair advantage, which was irritating. It might take a slight bit of time to get use to, but overall it's not too much of an issue.

A journey to seek out the truth behind seemly dissociated-yet-vital incidents and how they tie to the ultimate murder. A great story about a political business conspiracy, obsession with work over family to a saddening and emotional conclusion.
