Was skeptical because of such low ratings but glad we gave it a go. The story was interesting and refreshing, some parts needed a bit more context. Be warned Parental Advisory- the tail cutting is creepy and brutal for kids and there is brief nudity but tasteful. The mermaid did a phenomenal job, most realistic we've seen and my daughter is a huge fan now. Both my wife and my daughter cried at the end of the movie. I guess it has such low ratings because it just came out. Hopefully it get's the praise it deserves.
