From the very beginning of De Libi, I kept on thinking to myself "ah yes, if I get asked next time how it is to live in Amsterdam, I have this movie to show as a response". More than anything, it seemed to capture the vibe really well. I don't think it would be as entertaining for Dutch people themselves as it is if you are a foreigner, but there's a lot of the humor to relate to for sure if you are watching as a kind of an outsider. Special round of applause to the actors. There were some nuanced layers in the characters that not everyone can deliver. I ran into this movie accidentally, so I had zero expectations. It's not going to be my next favorite movie, but I'm glad it exists.
