Pretty Simplistic
We had almost nothing growing up, so in the recesses of my brain there is a hatred for those that never have enough. The boy here is a beast who has learned how to work the system. He uses all the typical kid stuff, especially outlasting his parents with total tantrums. So he goes to the Nth degree with his self indulgence and a resolution is in the making. My issue is that this would most likely get him more angry and more frustrated. His empathy for other children is just too fast and too contrived. I know it's a children's fiction, but it should still have some realism.
