Jetpack Joyride (2011)

Review by Platypuschow

Jetpack Joyride

6/10

Jetpack Joyride: Addictive simple little title

Jetpack Joyride has been around, it's been on near every platform you can imagine since 2011 from phones to current generation consoles.

It's simplicity at its most basic, you play Barry who uses an experimental jetpack to traverse through the level and you use but one single button throughout the game to dictate your elevation.

You collect coins, you avoid lasers and overtime you unlock various outfits and alternate appearances for your jetpack. It looks like an Amiga game, and that's fitting as this is retro at its core.

A cheap little addictive title you can do a lot worse. It's not the kind of game you'll be sinking countless hours into but it's a harmless time killer none the less.

It's like Flappy Bird, except it doesn't make you want to tear your throat out with a spork.

The Good:

Addictive

Old school feel

The Bad:

Not a vast amount of content

Microtransactions

Things I Learnt From This Game:

Mr Cuddles is in fact not cuddly at all

Profit Bird may be the best piece of satire in the history of gaming
