Airplane: Long-Haul Version

8/10

Nice, but it would have been better if it was a stand alone special feature

Much like the "Follow the white rabbit" feature on The Matrix DVD, we have the TransAmerica logo appear on the screen. Press enter and you will see:

Featuring interviews with most of the cast and crew (Julie Hagerty is absent), we even have one of the Hire Krishnas, the Jive dudes, Joey and his family and even the "Boy who is locked in fridge eats foot". And all of them are sitting in airplane seats in front of greenscreens. Stills from the movie were added behind them.

Jim Abrahams, David and Jerry Zucker talk about the movie that they spoof "Zero Hero" and how cheesy that movie was (I haven't seen it but it is known for having bad acting and dialogue) and how they wanted to spoof it.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was cast because in Zero Hero, an athlete was cast as the co-pilot and his acting was bad, so the trio thought it would be funny to cast an actual athlete.

The fella who played Joey is still asked "Have you ever seen a grown man naked?" and Peter Graves scared a little boy by asking "Do you like movies about gladiators?"

Leslie Neilsen talks about being typecast as a Grandfather and how this movie broke and sadly typecast him as a buffoon in spoof movies. They also talk about his fart machine.

Deleted Scenes are shown and Jim and the Zucker Bros explain why they were cut.

The fella who played the "Boy trapped in fridge" said that was his second grade photo.

A great feature, but it would have been nice if it was a documentary on it's own, instead of having to sit through the whole movie.
