Zamana (1985)

Review by sanjayppc

Zamana

7/10

Entertaining potboiler

This film is a multi starrer with Rajesh Khanna & Rishi Kapoor in the lead. It is the usual story of revenge written By Salim Javed. The film's director is Ramesh Talwar who at that time was Poonam Dhillon's boyfriend. He had problems with Kaka during the making of the film & this affected the release a bit.

Though the story line is old, the film manages to entertain. There is a scene involving Om Puri & Kaka which is hilarious. Kaka's romantic scenes with Poonam Dhillon shows that when it comes to romance, no one can beat Kaka. Rishi Kapoor is adequate.

Kulbhushan Karbhanda plays the villain & his confrontation scene with Kaka in a hotel is one of the highlights of the film. There is a dance sequence well choreographed by Gopi Krishna.

Music by Usha Khanna is average. The director could have handled the cast better with a strong script.

The film had an average run at the box office.
