Glamarus (2014)

Review by marsdreamnation

Glamarus

7/10

I Guessed the Flavor

It's like something out a twisted steam-punk novel, if steam-punk went forward in time and lost all the cool gadgetry of course, but nonetheless, it takes you throughout these stories.

At first glance it seems a bit confusing, but as you keep watching, you notice that the stories all mesh together in an odd sort of way. Much like steam-punk, and like steam-punk, with its many factors, Glamarus tells an odd, distorted story of a man's perspective on certain events that seemed to have been the driving force behind said film.

You get to see an array of characters, some ranging from spooky to down right hilarious. And as you continue on, the whole point of the film, if you feel there is indeed a point, which I do, becomes sort of a revelation on a more personal level. It's kind of like you were all up in the koolaid, but now you know the flavor so it's totally cool.

All in all, by the time one has seen the entirety of Glamarus, you'll hold a personal grudge against the makers of barbecue ribs, you'll see the Hudson River or basically any body of water and its surroundings as someone else's kingdom, and you'll steer clear of plastic snowmen, and traffic cones.
