Aiye (1980)

Review by helenejohnny

Aiye

10/10

I watched Aiya at the movies in Ibadan in 1980

Aiye movie depicts the myth of victory over adversity!

The family drama genre was original, humanistic, optimistic, long suffering and victorious.

Aiye helps anyone remember never to quit, no matter the experience's intensity.

Aiye was well plotted exposing the Nigerian self conflicting attitudes in any given community, given it's a widely religious country, yet most uses their power, to negatively afflict each other, than promote each others, success.

Aiye stands as a warning to those in the practice of misuse of power, to stop and think, of their eventuality, as wrongs and cruelty can go on, for decades, but the day of reckoning is a second, a minute!

Aiye was well choreographed and, acted to Hollywood standard.

Aiye typifies the comprehensible, entertaining and originality, of the plays of late Hubert Ogunde, and his crew of, producers and directors, actors and production crew, wowing the audiences as ever!

Aiye was an eye opener, for all to see, that if the evil inside didn't begin, to hurt you, the ones outside, will not know how, to get you, only who is close to you, can sell out and, shortchange you, before the strangers decides to hurt your life.

Aiye however, assured only who stick it out, will succeed, as long as you don't quit on yourself, nor give in to adversity, victory is assured.
