A group of local fisherman find some cocaine that has washed ashore from a ship that went down off their coast, and decide to sell it back to the dealers who lost it.
. However, the main character, Blanquito, decides to sell only a little of his, so he can take the rest to the big city. There he can get a better price, so he thinks.
The rest of the movie is really predictable and proceeds at a snail"s pace when he's being really lazy. The actors have all the excitement of somebody off the street being asked to read from the phone book. The characters are so without character that you really don't care what happens to them, so long as it happens a little (or a great deal) faster. The scenes on the Ecuadoran coast are pretty, but that is about all there is to admire about this film. The subtitling is exceedingly hard to read.
This had to be one of the most boring movies it has ever been my misfortune to see in my 62 years. Usually, I love foreign films, and I always prefer subtitling to dubbing. I never expect them to be like Hollywood productions and appreciate differences of culture. But this film was profoundly bad. Don't waste your time.
