Batoru Fîbâ Jei (1979)

Review by emasterslake

Batoru Fîbâ Jei

8/10

The giant robot method officially begins in this Sentai.

Battle Fever J was known for having an important place in the Super Sentai history. This was the first series to feature a Giant Robot and the first series to include permanent role changes of two certain rangers in the series. it was also the first series to have "Super Sentai" in the main title when it's predecessors only had "Sentai" in the title. The story is about a secret syndicate called Secret Egos threatens the peace that surrounds Japan. A special task force called Battle Fever was form. Each member is Japanese and has either spent time in a different country or has a connection with that country. As each ranger represents that country(e.g. Battle Japan & Miss America). All make up five rangers whose goals are to prevent Egos from terrorizing the country of Japan.

This was the end of the 70s so this series really shows it's age. Plus it's the first Super Sentai to feature video games. About four episodes showed Space Invaders back when it was a new game. If you like the previous Sentai shows you'll love this one as well. It's memorable and entertaining for a 1979 series.
