Emilio Disi, Pablo Granados, Pachu Peña, Fredy Villarreal, Luciana Salazar, and Pamela David in Bañeros III, todopoderosos (2006)

Review by leilac

Bañeros III, todopoderosos

5/10

Weird Mix

Most of the times I consider myself an empty-minded person so I went to the Avant Premiere! Let me give my opinion:

Long version: Emilio (Emilio Disi) enjoys a cruise trip, an award to his heroism as a lifeguard (see Bañeros II, La Playa Loca). After this trip, he meets Mr. Sh*t, who hires him to be manager of this beach spa in Mar del Plata. Emilio moves to this city on the seaside near Buenos Aires with his wife La Lechona, Gino (Ginno Reni) and Gino's poodle bitch. On the other hand, Pablo, Pachu and Freddy (desperately unemployed) go to this Spa as soon they know they can get a job there. Later, they find out Mr. Sh*t (Christian Sancho) and his assistant Suzie Wong (Pamela David), leaders of a secret group of killer ninjas, are trying to kidnap every dog in the city to extract a fluid in order to rule the world!!! Muahahahaha! Eventually, a Chineese master gives superpowers to Pablo, Pachu and Freddy. They will use them to beat the bad guys, not without the help of Emilo and Gino. Emilio, Gino, Paolo El Rockero and La Lechona are classic characters of this bizarre Argentinian cult saga. Plot is definitely stupid (this is not bad, everything in the movie is just an excuse to go see goofy performances and female extras with a really low rate of clothes per square centimeter of skin). Rejections: Fans of this saga (mostly also fans of Brigada Z, with a similar cast) are part of a different audience than those who like Pablo, Pachu and Freddy (Tinelli's TV team). These three have too much importance in the movie. The result is a lot of angry fans with a betrayal sensation. However, there is some good stuff: In comparison to others of this saga, FXs are much better. There's a good ninja fight (good! for Pamela). There's a cute little dog. Paolo, Emilio and Gino are still as funny as always. It's a pity Paolo has just a couple of scenes. Idem for Guillermo Franchella and Martinez De Rosas. The avant premiere finished, actors went to sign autographs and talk to the press, the people began to go away and still there were about 30 people around Paolo (no doubts: the most loved and cheered) holding him and taking pictures with him (I have mine!!!)

Short version: If you are a Bañeros Fan, you have to accept the fact Tinelli's team took half of the movie for themselves. Block mentally those parts and enjoy the rest. If you like Tinelli's kind of humor, go see the movie, you will like it the most. Try to accept the old characters doing old stuff because Bañeros was 'their' movie before the producers make this weird mix.

By the way, I noticed Berugo Carambula, Mónica Gonzaga or Patricia Sarán are part of the credited cast, but I really cannot remember them on this movie.
