Café Meineid (1990)

Review by VogelManfredPS

Café Meineid

9/10

wonderful bavarian humor

A lot of episodes from a Munich court. It's a mixture of satire, humor, comedy and stories that look like real life. "Café Meineid" is the name of the cafeteria in the court house. Jugde, staff, attorney, delinquents, witnesses, complainers met there. Each episode shows two trials. Most people are typical bavarians and franconians, and the stories are full of that typical bavarian humor and way of live. Maybe only Bavarians, Franconians and Swabians completely understand that kind of humor, but it's taken from real live. (There was a similar TV-series in the 60th "Koeniglich bayerisches Amtsgericht, which played in old Bavaria before WW I, but Café Meineid plays today) The series was made by Bavarian Television and is rebroadcasted again and again. A lot of famous bavarian (and also other German actors) play roles in each episodes. Unfortunately, actor Erich Hallhuber jr (Jugde Wunder) died suddenly and that ended that wonderful series in 2003.
