Ros na Rún (1996)

Review by starrleaf-dreamer

Ros na Rún

10/10

*Is maith liom Ros na Run*

Started watching it for the Gaeilge during my Leaving Cert. Got hooked. Love it now. It's more than a cut above anything else in the soap world and it's the only one I'd give my time to. Can't wait for next season! The acting is really decent compared to...well pretty much anything on TV these days...and it gives a break from those unending reality shows. My only complaint is that the communication between the many scriptwriters doesn't always seem to be consistent...on occasion there's an episode filled with one person's story, a cliffhanger and then you hear nothing more about them for several weeks! But hey nothing's perfect and there's definitely more right than wrong with this Irish soap. While I'm on the topic of Ireland, the location can't be faulted - Spiddal, Co. Galway is one of Ireland's most beautiful places and the West of Ireland atmosphere is displayed in the programme. Whether you start watching to learn some Gaeilge, improve the Irish you've got or just cause there's nothing else on, I guarantee you'll be glad you flicked to TG4/WYBE.
