'Barry Welsh is Coming' and 'Barry Welsh - The Second Coming' was originally shown on Welsh regional television (HTV i think). I came across it completely by accident channel hopping one night and was immediately hooked! You don't have to have the infamous Welsh sense of humour to appreciate jokes or references, as John Sparkes has a really wicked, surreal and oddball yet charming manner of delivery. The show features very strange characters, disturbingly funny sketches, and is loosely held together by wannabe-big-time anchorman character Barry. Worth a look if you like 'The Fast Show', Reeves and Mortimer, 'Naked Video' etc. After 'Barry Welsh' John Sparkes penned and featured in 'Jeff Global's Global Probe', which although similar in formula, had many more weird and wonderful scenarios to offer. Winner of various awards incl. 'Best Regional Comedy'.
