strange casting, but nice to see something different
I have seen so many American and British and Irish crime stories, that most of them are very familiar. It was a pleasure to see a little Australian crime for a change. Mostly gangsters and tough-guys, at least the first few episodes. I'm not all the way through it yet. What is weird is they say a guy gets out of prison in his 70's, but in the reconstruction you can tell the actor is no more than 45. Then there he is in a hospital bed dying of cancer, supposedly even older, and it is the same younger man who looks perfectly healthy. Another episode, there is a man bagging drugs who looks like a very haggard 55, and his "mother" comes in and she looks like she's 35 at most. They have just perched a gray wig on her head. Why didn't they get some older actors to play the old folks? It is disconcertingly obvious.
