Batman: Arkham Shadow (2024)

Review by PhoenixGod00

Batman: Arkham Shadow

6/10

Good but could be better. Wanted more

10 out of 10 A Shadow of Its Predecessors - Still Fun, But Missing the Weight

Let's call it what it is - Arkham Shadows is a cool ride... but it's just that. A ride. While the game manages to carry over some of the slickness and signature tone of the Arkham legacy, it doesn't quite live up to the depth we've come to expect from a series known for psychological twists, rich lore, and high-stakes emotional storytelling.

The Good Being Batman in VR? Always a win. From the moment you don the cowl, the immersive mechanics pull you into Gotham in a way few games ever have.

The visuals and atmosphere are solid for a VR experience. The rooftops, alleys, and interiors have that gritty, decaying Gotham vibe we love.

And the gameplay? Smooth. Throwing Batarangs, gliding through the city, and stalking enemies in first-person? It delivers enough to make you feel like the Bat, even if just for a few hours.

The Meh Story-wise, it felt... thin. There's a setup, there's a threat, but it never hits that emotional depth or surprise punch that Arkham Knight or even Arkham Origins managed.

And where are the boss fights? The rogues gallery is Gotham's crown jewel, and this game gives you only fleeting tastes. It's a missed opportunity.

Final Verdict

For a VR Batman game, Arkham Shadows is entertaining - it captures the vibe, it gives you the suit, and it drops you into that dark world fans crave. But in the grand Arkham lineup, this one lands lower on the bat-signal.

Still a fun ride. But it needed more story weight, more villain presence, and real boss-level moments to step out from the shadow of its predecessors.

6 out of 10.

A decent detour. But not a destination.
