Horribly offensive and unfunny trash
This mess makes "Tiptoes" look decent by comparison and is somehow even more tasteless and offensive towards little people. I'm amazed it was even greenlit.
Simple and boring story. A group of men with dwarfism unite and form a team called "The Minis" with Dennis Rodman to help them win a summer basketball competition.
All of the acting is horrible. Dennis Rodman stars as himself and once more proves he's got the acting talent of a log. He should have thrown in the towel after Double Team in 1997. Almost none of the characters are likeable and the actors aren't even trying because they know they're in a piss-poor movie. Natalia is a patronizing, gold-digger. Roger's son is a disrespectful little jerk, even if they do make up in the end. Even the minis aren't entirely sympathetic due to the number of unsportsmanlike acts they commit during the final game, like pantsing a Viper or hitting another in the balls.
There's bad cinematography and overused, confusing montages, and ridiculously corny sounding songs with lyrics relating to dwarfism. There's even one scene where Rodman throws an obvious and horribly rendered CGI model of Chevy to score a three-pointer. Everything looked and sounded awful in this.
All of the movies pathetic attempts at humor are just tasteless jabs at little people, like some idiotic scene with Roger trying to dislodge a stuck basketball with a palm leaf or Chevy getting stuck in a garbage can trying to retrieve a basketball from it.
The film may claim it's trying to deliver a message that anyone can succeed if they believe in themselves or try hard enough, even if they have a medical condition, but the quality of it is so bad, it fails miserably. It's no wonder this went straight to video.
