Gary Busey and Darlanne Fluegel in Le solitaire (1994)

Review by coverme6

Le solitaire

A creepy yet horribly predictable movie

The ever unique acting of Gary Busey (Lethal Weapon, Point Break, Under Siege) saves this cliched slasher/film noir movie.

Our star plays Dwight Meadows, a retired Seattle homicide cop who reluctantly returns to the force to stop a copycat serial killer who is imitating the grisly, sexual murders commited by a murderer nicknamed the Surgeon. As it turned out, Meadows had apprehended the Surgeon before, and the copycat killer wants the cop dead as well as his female victims. The case gets closer to home when the killer stalks Dwight's ex-wife Allison (Kim Cattral) and his new partner Dana (Darlanne Fluegal). With enough taunt tension and a gloomy atmosphere, "Breaking Point" looks like a pretty watchable movie. But if it weren't for the slightly dull performances by the secondary actors and the extremely predictable storyline, "Breaking Point" would have been an excellent movie. By far, Busey saves this flick
