This is a great romance story. Unlike weathering with you, this movie varies more from Shinkai's previous stories hence feels more original. The scope of the film is much bigger than his previous works. This is a must watch film! What are you waiting for? Go watch it already. Unlike your name I will give this film a 9/10 because i was hoping to see/know more about certain characters in the story. This film is almost perfect and second only to your name for me among Makoto Shinkai's works. The visuals...what else is there to say about the visuals in makoto Shinkai's films other than they are resplendent, beautiful and stunning to look at. Go watch it already!
The storytelling consistently gets better through seasons where season 3>season 2>season 1. And I already love season 1. Every character in this show in my opinion is well developed. There are no mundane characters(at least among the main ones). The plot is mostly about high school student but it has rich storytelling as is has great characters interwoven with some important themes such as identity, responsibility of power, becoming good at something and others. The relationship with characters is also fantastic. And to top it all of it had a great ending. This show has one of the best stories I have seen in any show. I highly recommend this especially to anime fans(and especially those that love OPM).
