Although they made a series afterwards I watched it before watching the movie. A lot of scenes from this movie served as inspiration for some episodes and to be honest they were all better. Jemaine Clement was involved in the series and even if he didn't acted in those episodes all credits go to him. I follow him since the excellent comedy series Flight Of The Concords and been a fan since. The movie isn't bad though, on the contrary it's funny, but the show that aired from 2019 to 2024 is just excellent whilst this movie is just good. Good acting from the entire cast but again the characters from the series were just phenomenal whilst here just good.

Maria Full Of Grace is a good Columbian drama, about a drug mule desperate to make some easy money to support her family. It makes you think about the risks some people are willing to take to earn some bucks. From swallowing pellets to passing the border checks to meeting the criminals, there are just a lot of dangerous obstacles to pass that are just not worth the risks for just money. It's a daily problem that can't be solved unless you make all drugs legal and so ruin the cartels businesses that thrive on illegality and so the high prices that make them rich. Good acting from the entire cast, a story that looked real.

After thirty years I decide to watch 12 Monkeys again, to see if it aged well. At the time it was a movie I enjoyed a lot and now thirty years later I can say I still enjoyed watching it. Terry Gilliam has a vivid fantasy, he made some great movies and this one is one of them. His Monty Python period is over and since then he directed some very good movies. In 12 Monkeys it's all about Madeleine Stowe, Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, the three main actors that made this sci-fi entertaining. Good acting from all of them. It's for sure not an easy story, you have to stay focussed all the time if you don't want to lose the plot. But since I remembered a lot of this movie it became much clearer than the first time I watched it. Later they made a series about it but the movie is in my opinion better. You could say 12 Monkeys has its place in the classics of this genre.
