What could have been a great plot is let down by some wooden acting. There is no depth or substance to the film and frequently actors look awkward and amateurish. As a previous reviewer said, there was a gathering of a few good actors but even they look lacking amongst the less experienced.

Yes, the action style was stolen from better films like 300 and by no means as gory either, and yes the budget should have offered something more but it wasn't so bad. Couple of ciders and I really enjoyed it. The romance was a bit icky at times but if you overlooked that and enjoyed the action then it was worth it. My favourite line of the whole film was "lets get them", spoken by a bowman on top of the city gates. I bet he was well chuffed with his one and only line of the film!!! The lead actor playing Hercules wasn't an amazing actor but from experience the muscle men in many films are not as well endowed in acting skills as they are in musculature...his lover, the princess wasn't any great shakes either so they made a fine couple. The King and Prince however played excellent baddies. No it isn't a film to rave about, but nor is it a total disaster.

Take all the actors out and replace them with ones who can act and use more than one or two facial expressions then possibly it could work. Oh and a corpse that doesn't breathe, although by far she was the better actress so that says a lot. Worst film I have seen in ages. Says I have to write ten lines before I can submit this review. ...I am not sure I can come up with anything more valuable to persuade you not to waste your time. If you do have a fish tank then perhaps buy some popcorn and settle down in front of it and enjoy an action packed fish frenzy of aquatic pleasure. It will be a far more valuable use of your time. Is that ten lines yet? I have put more effort and time into this than the whole film . Right.....off to sprinkle some fish flakes........
