I've seen it coming for months, but seeing it through is even worse. This show is stained in every corner with GenAI, poor execution, and lack of care.
Stiff animation, unnatural dialogue, scene cuts that make no sense, poorly rendered shots, poor rigging and clipping animation... The show has everything but the "movie level animation" we were promised by the creator, Iginio Straffi.
Whoever was the supervisor for this project did not care at all about quality, continuity, or anything that makes a good show, really.
Mistakes that not even amateur animators would commit were made, and absolutely no care or commitment from the people involved. This show feels more than ever like a cash grab and a failed attempt to make bank out of fans who were rooting for them to make a comeback with all the elements we loved from the original.
Plot-wise, for a show called "Winx Club" it often feels like the Winx Club girls are forgotten in favour of giving protagonism to a character nobody cares about and nobody asked for: Damian. A new character introduced in this reboot who only serves to take away attention from the girls, who should be the main focus.
People who go soft on this: you need better standards. I know we come from around 15 years of mediocrity in the Winx franchise, but this is not a win; this is a new low, and y'all need to wake up and see it. Not all content is good content. I love Winx too, it's the franchise that made me start drawing, made me passionate about animation and fashion. It got me through art school and even got me gigs at animation studios, but this is NOT a good show. Stop saying we shouldn't compare it, because that's the point of making a reboot instead of a new thing: having the old nostalgic fans back. Making bank from the nostalgia of people who crave the feeling the original show made us feel. Y'all should strive for better.
And to Rainbow: DO BETTER. You are letting everyone down, again and again, and you never learn. Money has rotten you. And you are completely disconnected from your fanbase and the magic the original show carried with it. You don't know what made your show good in the first place, and it shows.
Magic shines by absence.
