Hallmark just gave me a new favorite Christmas movie!!! I've always liked Kristoffer Poloha, and he had great chemistry with Bethany Joy Lenz. All of the support cast were great, as well. The Biltmore is an incredible place, and even though I was there over 20 years ago, it felt like I was just there while watching this movie. Jonathon Frakes was so awesome, and I love how the history of the home was incorporated into the love story of the movie.

I also love the writing and directing in this movie! Even though time travel is not a reality, it did not feel over-the-top. In a crazy way, it was almost believable! I attribute that to the writing and directing. The costumes and colors and scenery were all so good! It is definitely a Hallmark movie I will watch time and time again...Christmas or not!

If you are looking for a Christmas movie the entire family can watch, "I Heard the Bells," is an excellent Christmas movie! I taught Longfellow literature to high school students, so I was somewhat prepared for the plot of this movie. However, I was not prepared for the quality found in the writing, the actors, and the cinematography! Wow! I was completely drawn into the Longfellow family. The scenes in the home with the children are heartwarming. The scenes of Charlie with his fellow Civil War soldiers were just enough and not over the top. The church and the bell serve as an incredible centerpiece of the movie, and the love and hope can be felt to the core! This is a movie that can be watched again and again for many Christmas seasons to come!

If you like films about the Middle Ages, then this one is worth the watch. Yes, it is much like other films in this genre (blood and guts and a little bit of a love story), but the director did a great job with angles and sequence and speed. Being based on true events, the storyline in Medieval is unique, as well. Ben Foster leads the film well, and the supporting cast, especially Sophie Lowe and Michael Caine do a nice job. It's not a movie that I will watch over and over again, but it was well worth the watch in the theater, and I'm sure I will watch it at least one more time when it hits the digital market.
