I understand the need to promote one's work, and also the importance of having people leave high reviews and praise. After personally reading many of said reviews and comments on this film, I decided to rent/watch. Perhaps the film I just turned off half way through, is a completely different film?
Did not laugh once, found the premise lackluster and recycled from a sleuth of movies in the past. Waiting for something unique, truly comical, or even interesting simply led to more frustration.
There is nothing gripping about this film, unless you consider gripping your own skull until your head explodes.
You know how an album starts off with a super rocking riff, and you eagerly listen to the entire record, knowing that it is going to be something special? Like The Rolling Stones "sticky fingers" album for example.
Well, save your time, skip this film, and go crank that Stones album.
This movie? Kind of a train wreck.

Well well well, I decided to invest in a comedy special which I never do, and damn't this was a good one. Short n sweet.
Great stage presence, fantastic material, and I genuinely wanted to keep hearing more. As well, there was absolutely a bunch of lol moments.
On this journey, I didn't hit pause, and almost can't wait for another round from Rosebud. This was indeed the motherlode, and I am ok with decaying on my couch, as long as she continues to deliver this type of fantastic standup. Kudos to in you Rosebud.
You are an absolute gem. I would 100% watch this stand up again, and would hands down love to see Rosebud live.
This was a fun ride.

With the 8.1 overall rating, yet no reviews on IMDB to support that, I decided to give this film a shot. Sadly, not memorable by any means.
I think what annoyed me the most about this film, and perhaps the films intent, was the main character Louie. What an absolutely annoying individual. For a guy who is supposedly this relatively successful and rich writer, he sure as hell doesn't know how to communicate. A babbling idiot to be honest.
And with that, it is hard to find his success believable, as well as the possibility of him actually being popular at an earlier point in his life. You also have the other standard characters who never got out of their hometown, yet everything seems so surface level , so we never find out much about these individuals .Surely a blueprint that has been done before
With that, it is definitely not a must see film, nor one you would talk about after viewing.
