I really enjoyed the storyline of this film, it was very well done! The fresh ideas of the writers was very welcomed in a genre that is filled with repetitive stories. This one gives an interesting story of origin and state of the human races future. The flow of the story was easy to watch and follow. In addition, the characters really did keep your attention and were well cast. The cinematography was impressive for this budget film as well as the locations chosen for shooting brought an intriguing feel to the overall. Bravo! I want to see sequel. I am very interested to see where Ellen takes the story.
Liked the plot. A bit hard to grasp from start but eventually became clear.
But those in-a-car scenes cracked me up completely. Haven't seen worse since good old days with Humphrey Bogart.
Point is to make it look as if the actors actually sits in a car that's moving. Throughout decades this have been done in numerous ways. From having real cameras in a car and the actors actually driving to having a "car" on a trailer equipped with cameras and microphones.
Past 20 or so years it's been CGI, computer generated imagery, green room, etc.
I haven't a clue how the producers managed to create these ridiculous "moving backgrounds" to the in-a-car scenes. I tried not to bother first half of the film but since they are several and timely, I gave up about half way in.
I'm baffled. How can producers and others NOT see this?

I'm a massive sci-fi fan and Beyond Existence hit all the right notes for me. The concepts around black holes are genuinely intriguing and had me glued to the screen, especially when you start noticing the hidden clues about time and reality. The backwards engineered alien technology is absolutely fascinating, with loads of clever details for anyone into conspiracy theories and the unknown.
There is this constant feeling that there is more going on than meets the eye, and I love how the film leaves room for your imagination to run wild. The story gives you plenty to think about, and I found myself rewatching scenes just to spot more secrets. Even though a few effects could be better, it never took me out of the experience.
If you enjoy smart sci-fi with a bit of a mysterious edge, this is definitely one for you. 9 out of 10 from me.

The review by dtacinelli, who gave this film 10 out of ten points, is ridiculous. Obviously he is somehow involved with the production of the film.
It's a cheap small production with a very small ensemble. It looks amateurish from minute one. And when the professor states that he is an alien from Alpha Centauri, the film loses every bit of seriousness.
The whole background story about the motives of these aliens is turbid and illogical. The end is disappointing like in many films that had no idea how to finish the story.
What dan-162-268581 wrote about the special effects in the car is absolutely right. The effects were totally outdated and primitive. The whole production looked very amateurish. And it's way too long.
I give it a rating of four out of ten.

Beyond Existence is a genuine gem in modern sci-fi cinema. The story grabs you from the very first scene and does not let go, offering a clever blend of high-stakes action and profound existential themes. The script is sharp and ambitious, giving you characters you actually care about, with just the right amount of world-building to keep things intriguing without getting bogged down in exposition.
The direction is first class. Every scene feels purposeful, and there is a real confidence to the pacing and visual storytelling. The film takes a few risks with structure and character arcs, but it pays off, leading to an emotional payoff that actually feels earned.
The acting is another standout. There is not a weak performance in sight. The leads deliver nuanced, layered portrayals, and even the supporting cast make a strong impression. You genuinely believe these characters and get swept up in their journey.
It is not perfect. Some of the greenscreen work in the bigger set pieces is obvious, and a few visual effects could have done with a bit more polish. That said, it never really distracts from the heart of the film. If anything, it is a reminder that great filmmaking is more about story and soul than technical perfection.
In short: If you care about story, direction, and acting, Beyond Existence is a must-watch. The occasional rough visual around the edges is more than made up for by the quality elsewhere. Highly recommended.
