La macchinazione

This film has deeply impressed me. I have never been so sad after seeing a movie. I had tears in my eyes after the last scene and a strong sense of hardship. David Grieco, many thanks for the courage. The actors are all very good, especially the protagonist. I understood many things, and I knew better the story of Pasolini. Incredible how important is this intellectual, this man who cared about understanding his time. I think we have a great opportunity to understand our time too through this film. The scene that struck me mostly is the one in which Pasolini releases an interview with a French journalist. I also appreciate the next one, in which Pasolini has the vision of our digital age, I think that both scenes are very representative of our condition.

I usually talk about Pasolini with my students as a teacher and when I've known David Grieco and his movie "La Macchinazione" I immediately bought his book edit by Rizzoli and invited my students to watch the film. So we had passionate discussions about Pasolini's death: the film gave us a valid interpretative perspective supported both by meticulous documentary research and by sources of direct information. Many thanks from us to David Grieco: his well structured film has a high formal and expressive level. It helps to reflect on a complex and delicate matter and it makes us more aware about the facts of which Pasolini was the protagonist and victim.

I'm very young, I'm still attempting the high school and Cinema is my passion. Some months ago I watched "Salò" by Pier Paolo Pasolini, then I've studied that Pasolini was murdered and that no one knew why. So you can imagine how much I was interesting in David Grieco's "La Macchinazione". So I bought the DVD. I was enchanted by the resemblance of Massimo Ranieri who plays wonderfully the poet of Casarsa. The film shows me how was the matter of facts. I think that young people like me have a responsibility to ask questions and to reflect on this History. I also liked the modern technology of photography and the soundtrack: I had never heard Pink Floyd before, but I really appreciate now. I would like to do a lot of questions to the director, there are many things I still want to understand. So thanks to David Grieco for showing us what Pier Paolo Pasolini suffered: he has become my favorite poet. This film is highly recommended.

David Grieco piece together the documents and some important investigations about the murder of Pasolini with a coherent internal logic. The work is a masterpiece, beyond the high ethical value. Sets and costumes are great, Massimo Ranieri who plays Pasolini is extraordinary, touching and intense, poetic and strong. Excellent all the cast members. The music of Pink Floid make the film simply visionary and concrete. Pasolini used to say: "Once life is finished it acquires a sense; up to that point it has not got a sense; its sense is suspended and therefore ambiguous." Through this film you will understand that an intellectual, a poet never dies.

I was skeptical when I heard about the new film on Pasolini's death. I do not like the word "conspiracy", I have always been cautious about. But when I saw the David Grieco's film I have been upset by the honest reconstruction of the murder of Pasolini and I understand that it is normal to be wary when you are in front of a submerged truth, you feel insecure. I believe that David Grieco has done a great movie, we deserve a Cinema that can make us aware. The mud machine that tried to destroy Pasolini is terrible. This film shows it without any rhetoric, everyone can understand the film and what it brings out, even young people. I think guys have just to see it, indeed. Also it is an elegant film. You will remain very touched by the sweetness of Massimo Ranieri and Milena Vukotić. Excellent Roberto Citran and Libero De Rienzo too. Brilliant idea the use of Pink Floid's music for the soundtrack, you'll really know ​what were those years. The special effects are a punch: the final sequence is truly visionary. After watching David Grieco's film I need to watch again all of Pasolini's works. Now I want to know the truth about his murder and I am sure that the great Cinema never leaves us alone.
