Leanne Morgan: Unspeakable Things

We are certainly Leanne fans in this house. When I saw her first stand up show I thought her accent had to be exaggerated but it wasn't. Her stories are too funny, the Tennessee lingo she uses like "wallering in the bed" crack me up. No cussing, she has her family back stage and brings them out at the end. In her bio its got the date of her marriage to Chuck Morgan as a question mark. That's funny.

I'll admit I hadn't heard of Leanne Morgan until her new comedy special "Unspeakable Things" dropped on Netflix, but we're now officially fans. We cackled, chortled, and chuckled our way through her down-home humor and Southern charm. Her bit on "wallering" in bed had me explaining to Shane what it meant and reminiscing about my own Appalachian-adjacent upbringing in Middletown, Ohio, a patois of words like "wallering", "hankering", and "gullywasher." Leanne's storytelling is effortless and relatable, making this a perfect watch for families wanting something light, funny, and genuinely warm-hearted. We've already started her new sitcom "Leanne" (with the hilarious Kristen Johnston who will forever be Lexi Featherston from "Sex and the City's" unforgettable "Splat" episode). We've also got Leanne's first Netflix special from 2023 lined up to watch. Really funny stuff!
