Vampire movies don't appeal to me, but I wanted to see Seth Edeen and Nicole Mattox as the paired leads again...(Dragon slayer is one of my all time favorite verticals.) This one doesn't match up to that one mainly because the whole blood-sucking thing. It wasn't overly gory, but keeping fantasy from becoming fake requires a skilled touch and this short film clearly didn't have the production values to create an engaging fantasy. In fact, mixing in so much 'real life' scenes further worked against it. It was a poor mishmash. Even the usual chemistry between Edeen and Mattox was suppressed due to the scripted plot arc dragging out the eventual reunion. Mattox turned in her usual good acting performance, but Edeen's performance was only so-so. But the best performance by far was Edeen's vampire father......now THAT guy delivered a great performance.
