Just finished episode 6 and I can't wait to watch more every Friday. Personally I like this version so much better than the KDRAMA. The original version is a WEBTOON comic so the KDRAMA version is NOT the original. And so far I think the JDrama does a great job of showing the personalities of the characters, especially the Director. He may seem reserved but he genuinely cares about Misa and will whatever it takes to save her. I love their relationship and how gentle he is with her. The flow of the story is paced very well, and although some parts are different from the WEBTOON I can still tell where we are in the story. I can't wait to keep watching.
This was the second time I have watched an Asian/Japanese TV series, after recently watching "Heaven's Coin" - an excellent Romance Drama series. This one didn't disappoint either, despite the fact that I don't understand Japanese language and had to have subtitles turned on.
A slightly unconventional twist in the story with a return to life after dying. The only negative for me with this story, is the fact that it often switches between points in time, without any indication of when events were happening - around the year death happened, or after death and that time the characters went back to. Usually when TV dramas or movies go back and forth in time there's usually a clear indication of what time the scene is in, such as displaying in screen the year, or maybe switching to black and white to show it's in the past. While it was a little bit of a negative for me, and the reason I gave it 9 stars, rather than 10, I would still recommend watching it, because it's ability to keep me interested and wondering what's going to happen next.

This is better than the Korean version primarily because the actors seem more relatable to actual people than a doll-like version. The acting has more depth, even though the storyline is the same.
The FL and ML have used the entirety of facial expression to carry out the conversation. The ML beautifully uses the longing looks to convey his unrequited love. The FL does appear to maintain the essence of her previous life as a housewife through her apparent transformation. So that we can see a grown woman through the metamorphosis. This was missing in the Korean version. Loved it.

Which to watch? I read the JP version is deeper and more serious and of course it's much shorter. I didn't need much inducement. K-dramas are draggy by default.
So I did like it in the beginning, it was engaging, but indeed, like some have said, the second half is less good. And surprisingly for an allegedly compressed version, the last two episodes were very draggy and quite unhinged if I'm honest. If there's one thing i hate in Asian dramas is the unhinged, psychotic characters. I mean they show signs but they really spiral down the line and it's so unimaginative. There's also quite a lot of strangling, which makes no sense, where do they get all that strength?
Anyway, all that aside, the concept was interesting, the acting was ok-ish. I liked the lead actress but absolutely loathed her bangs. I loved it when she gets her makeover but then the bangs appear again. Whenever she had them parted she looked so fine. Mature, sexy, feminine, as opposed to childish. Any woman past thirty still wearing bangs needs a special face or something, and it's not the case here. Takeru Satoh's character was less engaging, he's the typical cold, restrained director, he has very limited emotional range here, I know it's by design but he's really wasted on this drama. It's not the polarizing pairing that we usually see but it's not much better. They say the K version had much more chemistry, maybe I'll check out some excerpts on YT. There's barely any comedy here or comedic relief, which they've been saying as well. But I'll take it to save 6 hours. I have plenty of K-dramas that I left somewhere cause they're boring me to death in later episodes.
Overall I'd say it's mid. For my standards this is not as good as advertised. Character-wise and plot-wise there's definitely room for improvement.

The male lead is absolutely gorgeous! I will watch anything he's in. By the way, he's an excellent actor. The Japanese version eliminated a lot of the unnecessary drama that was in the Korean drama. The writing is good and the pacing of the drama is quite excellent! The male lead totally put the backstabbing friend in her place! I laughed so hard when she became hysterical because he called her out on her scheming! People, this is a good one please give it a watch. My only critique is the lead comes across as quite naive and borderline stupid! The male clue dropped a clue that he's from the future too and the writer's didn't let her seize the moment! I was waiting for a aha moment! The aha moment didn't happen! Viewers will be pleased! Bravo!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
