It was ok if a tad bit boring and predictable. But honestly I really couldn't get past the costume design for Mae's character. Whoever dressed her did her dirty. She looks frumpy AF in almost every scene. I could not concentrate on almost anything else but how bad she looked. She may be a bit curvier here than in the past, but that is no excuse to dress her in hideous potato sacks the entire time because she is a beautiful woman and this did her an absolute disservice. As someone who has always been on the chubbier side, I know there is a way of dressing someone without using shapeless trash bags. Wtf? Truly terrible. I'm pissed on her behalf.

I haven't read the book but it seems that those that have, don't rate this adaptation. I found it to be an easy and fun watch while resting with a head cold in between wrapping presents! There are some good, well know actors, with nice scenery and a fun concept. So, in summary, an easy watch with a fun, festive theme.

Kathy Strachan either doesn't know how to dress women, or she hates fat people-probably both. The wardrobe on this show was so distracting from the actual story, I don't know what they were thinking. Mae Whitman just had a baby and the wardrobe department did everything possible to hide her new, thicker body under blankets of burlap sacks. Each outfit was more hideous than the last and only served to make Mae Whitman look like a snowman. Instead of choosing clothes that would complement her new curves, they essentially dressed her in one mumu after another. The show was cute but it was really difficult trying to identify with a 20-something year old woman with worse fashion sense than my grandmother. To top it off, the character is a textiles designer and wearing the ugliest garments. Absolutely infuriating.
Aside from that, there was zero chemistry between Kate and Richard. It's clear that they cast the hottest guy and didn't really care about whether or not that guy had chemistry with Mae Whitman. Did anyone else catch that dance scene in the last episode? The hand-holding? It was the ultimate cringe.
Also-circling back to wardrobe-what the hell was that bracelet? I just about screamed at the tv when they cut to an extreme closeup of the bracelet. PLEASE! Why are we accepting cheap play jewelry from men that will turn our skin green? That bracelet was meant for a 6 year old, not a grown woman.
Like I said, these things were very distracting from what was a cute little holiday show. I do love that they are making more episodic shows for the season vs movies, but let's please hire professionals that know how to dress people of all shapes and sizes. Kathy Strachan, may you never supervise the wardrobe on any set ever again. You've done enough damage here. I give the show 6 out of 10 stars and the wardrobe 0 out of 10 stars because there wasn't a single cute outfit.

I was honestly relieved they gave us scenery other than British Columbia or Toronto and happy to see some UK filming. Jane Seymour makes this worth watching and her storyline enjoyable. I feel like Mae Whitman is filling the "Bridget Jones" role here with the fun quirky friends and her plus size body. I was really liking it until episode 2 with the whole girl-girl storyline at the Dickens ball. If this were Netflix it wouldn't be a shock, but come on people this is Hallmark and I expect keeping it boy-girl.

Too slow, uninteresting, far from the quality Hallmark movie that I'm accustomed to watching. This one is an extreme dud, very unfortunate for the actors and actresses that are a part of this. I can't even bring myself to watch the second part (I really don't understand why this needs to be split into two parts). This is right up the same alley as the Erin Cahill and Steve Lund movie from a couple years ago that was so bad. This can't even compete with the low budget films. It just proves that the script means everything. Please! Do a better job of choosing your story lines! This is just beyond bad. And why do I have to have a minimum amount of characters in order to leave a review? There are only so many ways to say that a movie is bad.

While I generally like Hallmark movies, they can be a but cheesy. Of course that's the appeal for me. Fun, light hearted and a bit cheesy. This one is different but in a great way. It's well done and I didn't find it to be over the top cheesy at all. I've been following Mae Whitman since the late 90s, and the rest of the cast work together in a great way. Also, Jane Seymour.. come on! It was shot well. Location and scenery was beautiful. I wasn't bored. I loved that it was an actual mini series and not just a quick movie. I'm invested and kind of sad it's over. Good job!

This is so bad nothing like the book which I read every year. Jenny Bayliss is a wonderful story teller with great characters. This was terribly miscast and if you're going to buy a book that is based in England then film there. The quality of films series has generally gone down. I read there have been at least one change in management there needs to be more. Previous folks knew how to cast actors create fun mystery series now both channels are a sad reflection of what used to be entertaining programming. This 4 part movie was a waste of money.

I'm 30 minutes in into episode one and already I'm hooked!!! I am kind of picky when it comes to stuff and for a holiday show this is delightful. It is refreshing to see a plus size realistic woman be the heroine! Mae Whitman is absolutely perfection and the rest of the cast really adds to the story. Please Hallmark use Mae Whitman more and tell more stories like this!

I've only seen the first episode of The Twelve Dates 'Til Christmas so far, but it really pulled me in. The setup in Blexford feels cozy and lived-in, and the "12 Dates" concept is a fun twist on the usual Hallmark-style holiday romance.
Mae Whitman is the standout. She makes Kate instantly likable-awkward, funny, and caring without feeling over-the-top. The scenes with her dad already give the story some emotional weight, and I'm curious to see how both his arc and the matchmaking storyline develop.
This mini-series feels engaging, warm, and a little different from the standard Christmas movie formula. I'm looking forward to seeing where the next dates take her.

This series was a delightful surprise. First, the cast was top-notch. Mae Whitman is excellent, and I was happy to see Nathaniel Parker. Jane Seymour is a delight, and I was very impressed that Mary McDonnell was in it, too. It was so enjoyable to watch a Hallmark production that didn't involve the usual plot lines and conflicts. And while I'm glad there wasn't a cliffhanger ending, I hope this isn't the last we see of this marvelous ensemble. Well done, Hallmark.

Surprised this is below a 6. This should be at a 7+ cause for the genre (hallmark style Christmas movies/shows) this is really enjoyable and fun. It's not just about romantic love- it's also about self love and discovery, forgiveness, family, etc. All mixed in with some funny dialogue and bad dates. Mae is the best as always (if you haven't seen Good Girls by the way watch it) but the whole cast is great. Of course it's predictable in terms of who she will most likely end up with (waiting on last two episodes). Of course there is also some misunderstanding or silly reason why they aren't already together but it's still fun and characters are mostly well written. Check it out for yourself!

I was interested in this first because of Mae Whitman, whom I enjoy greatly. Nice, too, that Jane Seymour is in it. But it was a nice surprise that it's well written, funny, & actually realistic (to a degree anyway).
There are still 2 episodes left, & I'm really looking forward to them! (Wishing there were more than that left, actually!) I highly recommend this one!

Even though I haven't seen episodes 5 and 6 yet, I had to come leave a review! This mini series is great. Makes me want to read the book now. I had no clue about it until I searched up the series. Then I saw it was at a 5.5 rating and thought that was unfair. So here I am wanting to fix that. It deserves a watch.
P. S. The cast did great. Just thought I'd mention that if they read this.

This mini series is so fun to watch!
Im on episode 4 n I wish there were more!
The main character she is beautiful n so natural. Her acting is superb, I have watched her in the TV series Parenthood which I enjoyed.
Mae is doing this series after only 4 months post birth n living in Ireland with her newborn so she can be a mom n do this series which is amazing n no easy job.
All the characters are perfect, love the dad's story too with Jane Seymour.
All of Kate's friends are relatable esp Julian.
I love that this is filmed overseas n not in Canada, the scenery is beautiful n gives a warmth to the show.
It's such a comfortable movie that you feel like you are a part of it.
Please make more episodes n hope to see Mae Whitman in more Hallmark movies.
She's talented n gives a very natural performance.
We all love this mini series.

I want more episodes with these characters! Weddings! Babies! Career changes! This is one of the best things I've seen on Hallmark since they stopped doing Hall of Fame movies. The plot, the acting, the dialogue, the writing, the wardrobe ... everything is dialed up in this series and it is worth watching! There's wonderful chemistry in all the romances, it's set in England at Christmastime, and the dates are fun and interesting. Mae Whitman is superb as Kate. Mary McDonell and Lucy Eaton are standouts in the supporting cast.
Of course, you have to suspend disbelief a bit when you realize that going on these 12 dates probably would cost about $5,000, but you'll have so much fun watching this, you won't care. Please, Hallmark, give us more!

Full disclaimer - I did not know that this was from a book and have never read it.
As a 90 min movie, this would not have worked. Things would've been rushed. But breaking it apart worked. Some storylines could have been done in a 90 minute span and I would have been good with that. Others, I'm glad they had time to marinate.
I watched the first episode in the nail salon. Mae Whitman sucked me right in. She is soooo good!!! I hope Hallmark puts her into their rotation more. Jane Seymour is always a gem. There are lots of other familiar, and some new, faces that make this the delight that it is.
Will you leave your tv with your life changed? Will you be writing awards shows to include this? Probably not. But, will you be entertained? I think so.

I didn't have many expectations of this series, but I started watching and I was hooked! I love all the generational characters, every one rang true. The story line may have been a bit contrived, but still interesting. I will probably watch again to see what I've missed, but the best mini series of the season!!

Different for Hallmark but think it was great and wonderful done. Lots of turns but funny. Enjoyed it fully. Very real about feeling and situations. Great whom ever wrote it. I love being in Ireland. Hugh fan of Jane Seymour. She was great as always. Don't follow leading actress but I did enjoy her didn't think I would. But well done. Hope they do more.

I like very much. It deserves be appreciated. But the last episode offers some reserves. Sure, the world of a village, some touches of BBC productions, good doses of soap opera and Hallmark and Mae Whitman fighting, with succes, against some cliches , not so inspired cllothes, complications of story - for six episodes - plots and waste of time and fugitive characters and the old message about old friend as chosen. I saw the series for Jane Seymour and her presence reminding me the passing time. I admired Mae Withman and I am convinced than the series is her at whole - not only for leading role - but I feeled, in last episode, full fatigue of story and too convensional solutions as refuge.
A nice Christmas series . It is all what real matters.
