The film lay incomplete for 18 years. The movie at the time was titled "Dwand Yudh". The producer was finally able to get funds complete the movie. He changed the title and altered the script. He added new actors to the story to set the film in present times.
The Mission Inpossible Theme from the 1966 TV show was recreated for the climax scene of Vijay Anand's Blackmail. The song "Nateeja Hamari Mohabbat Ka Kya Hai" from Khauff .The interludes of this song and the tune of its antara were adapted from the theme of the television series "Mission: Impossible" . The theme music was once again sampled in the song "Raama Re" in Kaante (2002). The same theme music was used in a comedy scene with Govinda Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik in Deewana Mastana (1997). Shankar Ehsaan Loy also sampled the Mission Impossible theme music in the song "Main Aisa Kyon Hoon" from Lakshya. Sunil Shetty" long delayed film Barood -The Fire used the theme music in the title sequence. Then in the scene when Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez and Sonam Bajwa and sneaking and crawling inside the air vent in Housefull 5.
Since the film had no distributors the producer sold the rights for a straight to DVD release.
No one dubbed for the film except Mukesh Khanna. Mukesh Khanna also was the only actor who helped the producer by acting in the new scenes added.
This is one of the films where Sunil Shetty disassociated himself, the rest being Do Chehre (2015) and Khanjar (2003). All of the films were delayed for monetary reasons.
