Resumo
Reviewers say 'Black Widow' garners mixed reactions, highlighting strong performances by Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh, and impressive action scenes. Themes of feminism and Natasha Romanoff's backstory are well-received. However, pacing issues, a generic plot, and the portrayal of Taskmaster draw criticism. Some find the film entertaining yet formulaic, while others believe it doesn't meet Marvel's usual standards. The MCU timeline placement and connections to past events also receive varied feedback.

This was overall a good movie. Florence Pugh added some amusement with her funny accent and Scarlett Johansson was cool as always. I liked the jokes, many of them, but they're still not in the same class as the avengers movies. However, if you still haven't seen this film, do it. It was good enough and a whole lot better than the new Eternals-junk!
Yes, the movie is an average film. But I enjoyed it because finally, I get to see where Black Widow came from. It's nice to see some of what made her, her. It is a shame that they didn't get more into it. I think the movie really could have given us more about the ruthless training and experiences that Widow had to endure. A lot of the movie was implied but not shown.
The plot was simple. It was nice to have some new heroes and villains. I really liked the cast and the jokes were fun. But as I said before the plot is very simple. Pretty much about killing a guy, a guy that we really didn't know or have any bad feelings for because we barely even got to see the man being evil. The movie lacked on showing the power of the widows. They had very spaced out and very few scenes of them.
I did enjoy the sister dynamic of the two girls. It was fun to see them both in action and it was fun to see them bicker with each other. In a way it is a sad movie. With what happened in the previous film. Did it do the Black Widow Justice? Some. It really could have been better by showing more. It missed all the heart string moments. Giving us more of an eye candy film with not much depth.

After many years and many movies, Black Widow, one of the original Avengers, finally got a movie. And while it wasn't anything groundbreaking, it was still a fun watch. Taking into consideration the splash of spy genre, a pack of new and interesting characters, plenty of action and intensity, I'd say this wasn't a bad movie. It's something exciting, while not totally memorable in the large expanse of the MCU. Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh both did great. David Harbor's character was good and definitely became a favorite in the movie, but I think he still has some things to unravel. The ending "big reveal" was kind of mediocre, but the final fight swept it under the rug mostly. Hopefully we'll get more of some of these characters in the future so they'll have the time they need to grow. Overall, if you haven't watched it and want a movie to watch while you're bored, I'd recommend this one.
After all these years, Black Widow finally gets her own standalone movie and... it's okay. I actually found Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and Rachel Weisz to be entertaining additions, but the story felt cobbled together and it was riddled with plot holes. I know Natasha is a very skilled assassin, for instance, but she's almost invulnerable in this. It probably would have been better to give Black Widow her solo film a year or two after Iron Man 2 came out.
Rewatching this film was something I needed-because now I appreciate it far more than before, despite all the flaws working against it.
The CGI, for example, hasn't aged well at all; it's still bad. Some scenes needed more polish, and it was even used for things that felt unnecessary.
As for the story, the villain should've had a stronger presence throughout. The transition from the second to third act was anticlimactic. Alexei's character honestly struck me as annoying, disruptive, and completely pointless. And the Red Room's metaphor for human and child trafficking of girls was something I wish it had been explored more deeply across the entire narrative.
Despite that, I've grown to appreciate the action and characters far more: Natasha and Yelena shine. The action truly excels in the hand-to-hand combat scenes, which were the highlights.
Florence Pugh as Yelena was the perfect casting choice. They gave her character so much charisma, personality, and layers that it was impossible not to love her-and to want more of her in future MCU films or shows. Her chemistry with Scarlett as sisters is heartfelt and portrayed flawlessly.
Natasha Romanoff feels like a completely different character compared to her past MCU appearances-and that's a good thing. Here, Natasha has far more depth: her vulnerability, regret, anger, determination, sadness, tastes, goals, and dreams are all explored. This version of Natasha was a joy to meet, and I'd have loved even more of her. With her rich backstory, she deserved a full trilogy. We'll miss you, Black Widow.
